I had to get a lexapro script after working here. HARDEST job there will ever be. Now that I work other places I cannot believe I did that. Imagine the worst shift you could possibly have and then make that be the average day every day. The coworkers and doctors though are amazing

I cannot recommend working here for the work itself. However, you will never work with better doctors. Most of them started together like 25 years ago and they have all stayed there. They are beyond knowledgeable and love teaching. The social component of this hospital is its best feature with quarterly happy hours (that get a bit wild and incestuous- yes there are McDreamies and McSteamies). However, management is the worst I've ever seen. Management is there to punish and control you (they literally once had a manager with a stopwatch in triage to see if people were working fast enough). All they care about are metrics, not you as a human. The acuity is super high but they focus heavily on team nursing. That's great when you're drowning but when everyone's drowning it just means you have that much more work to do even when your work is settled and done. I was a new grad here and learned a ton and am very thankful for my time there but people leave as soon as their new grad 2 year contract is up and very few of the nurses have more experience than that.

Good supportive team. Everyone here loved teaching. Lowish acuity, more overflow and medical than trauma. No set 30 min off for lunch but everyone tended to gather in the break room together for lunch which was really special and fun.
