RN Rated is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and informative platform for travel nurses to share their experiences. This Moderation Policy outlines what content is permitted, what is prohibited, and how we enforce these standards.
Review Standards
All reviews must meet the following standards:
- Based on personal, first-hand experience working at the facility
- Focused on the work environment, staffing, and professional conditions
- Written in a professional and respectful tone
- Free of personally identifiable information (PII/PHI)
- Compliant with HIPAA and privacy laws
Prohibited Content
The following types of content will be removed and may result in account suspension:
Privacy Violations
- Patient names, initials, medical record numbers, or any identifying information
- Staff member names, photos, or identifying details
- Specific patient cases, diagnoses, or treatment details
- Your own full name, contact information, or location details
Inappropriate Content
- Profanity, vulgar language, or sexually explicit content
- Discriminatory remarks based on race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin
- Threatening, harassing, or bullying language
- Personal attacks against individuals
False or Misleading Information
- Reviews about facilities where you have not worked
- Intentionally false or fabricated information
- Defamatory statements without factual basis
- Reviews written by or on behalf of competitors, recruiters, or facility staff
Spam and Commercial Content
- Advertising or promotional content
- Links to external websites or services
- Solicitation or recruitment messages
- Duplicate or repetitive reviews
Off-Topic Content
- Political rants unrelated to workplace conditions
- Personal grievances not relevant to the work environment
- Content unrelated to travel nursing assignments
Moderation Process
Review Submission
All reviews are set to "Pending" status upon submission and undergo manual moderation before being published.
Moderation Review
Our moderation team reviews each submission for compliance with this policy. Reviews typically are processed within 24-48 hours.
Possible Outcomes
- Approved: Review meets all guidelines and is published
- Rejected: Review violates policy and is not published (user is notified with reason)
- Flagged: Review is temporarily removed pending further investigation
User Reporting
Users can flag reviews they believe violate this policy. Flagged content is prioritized for moderation review. False or malicious flagging may result in account penalties.
Enforcement Actions
Violations of this Moderation Policy may result in:
- First violation: Warning and review removal
- Second violation: Temporary account suspension (7-30 days)
- Severe or repeated violations: Permanent account termination
- Legal violations: Immediate account termination and potential legal action
Appeals Process
If you believe your review was unfairly rejected or removed, you may submit an appeal through your profile page within 30 days. Appeals are reviewed by a senior moderator and decisions are typically provided within 5-7 business days.

To ensure your review is approved:
- Focus on specific, objective observations (staffing ratios, scheduling, resources)
- Provide balanced feedback highlighting both positive and negative aspects
- Use professional language and avoid emotional venting
- Double-check for any identifying information before submitting
- Be honest but fair in your assessment
